... but actually take a look?
When the mainstream newspapers first started reporting about interesting web sites,
many of them didn't include the URLs of those sites in their reports. It was as
though what they were reporting was so strange and foreign that there was no expectation
that we might want to learn about it first-hand, or that we might know how. Today,
if we read a newspaper article that mentions a site but doesn't give us the URL
it's a good guess that the newspaper probably assumes that we know how to find
it by ourselves.
Of course even in these super-connected times there are addresses which may be
difficult to type out (or remember), and there are many people who type with errors.
Perhaps this is the reason that on a least a few occasions, instead of giving
out an exact URL, I've heard people explain "run a search on Google for ....
Our site will be among the first few that come up".
