Gone.
The High Five Awards site is no longer there. David Siegel is still around,
though I'm not really sure just what that means. His latest web presence seems
to be a travel blog where he reports everywhere
he goes and what he does there in his quest toward achieving his goal of visiting
100 countries. Other, earlier (and much earlier), web presences of his are available
for the clicking, though it seems that he lost interest in most of these long
ago, and trying to navigate what's still there is both a fascinating and exasperating
experience. The best starting point seems to be here,
though just about everything leads to very old material - a
company he apparently once started but seems to have left long ago, the no-longer-existent
Awards site, lots of articles, including a probably-back-then important
examination of what the web needs in order to develop, and (among many others)
a wonderful page that lists
every restaurant meal he ate in 1996 - what, where and with whom. The web was
once like this.
