Logical today - passe tomorrow.
The sort of information that I tend to want to have accessible to me is, for the
most part, information that's available via the World Wide Web. And that means
that I need a web browser to get to it. But that doesn't mean that in the near
future different sorts of information won't be flowing into (and out from) our
homes in a variety of ways, perhaps even to the point at which we won't need a
computer console at all. After all, if our refrigerator knows what it has to order
for us, if our
toaster can predict the weather (I was sure I'd linked to this before, but
apparently didn't), and our toilet can tell our doctor whether we need medical
attention (this one did receive a link), the web
will probably lose much of its preeminence as a source of information.
