But what about blogs?

It's at about this point that I can picture one or two of my eight readers asking "but what about blogs? aren't they good examples of a renewed emphasis on content?". Perhaps. I'll readily admit that there are many good things to be said about blogs, but too many of them seem to be doing little more than moving information from place to place without contributing to it in any significant way. Too many blogs seem to be hitching a ride on information that's already in transit. Actually, rather than hitching rides themselves, they seem to be pointing out where other hitchhikers might best stand in order to catch a ride. There's certainly value in that, but I'm not sure how much, or whether this is really an example of content.

But yes, there's something (good) to be said about blogs, and I hope that they'll be examined (again) in a future column.
