Talk about integration ...


During the preparation for this column ...

Strange but true, whenever I use that phrase, or a similar one, I'm telling the truth. Sure, it's the sort of exaggeration that could make for more interesting reading, and my commitment to the truth isn't that strong that I wouldn't permit myself a rather elegant exaggeration here or there, just a wee-bit of stretching the truth, let's call it, a sprinkling of fiction to help characterize what's anyway a somewhat fictionalized persona. But sometimes it's even harder to make things up than simply to report what really happens.

So, it was during the preparation of this column that I found myself logging into my mail account at work with my gmail password. Only on my second try did I realize what I was doing that was causing a problem. I may be ready for seamless integration, but it seems that our various tools still aren't.
