Another sort of tedium.
Quite a few of the authors of the blogs I read seem always to be on the conference
circuit. And judging both from their own blog posts and from the posts of some
of the bloggers who report on these conferences, they're making what seems to
be more or less the same presentation wherever they go. I suppose that in the
English speaking world the only people whom this is going to bore are the presenters
themselves. There are enough organizations holding conferences in enough different
places such that for most of those attending, what's being
said is new. Those listening have to hear them only once.
In Hebrew the conference circuit is much smaller, and when we start repeating
ourselves it's almost immediately apparent - not only to ourselves, but to our
audiences as well. Frankly, there's something very healthy about such a situation.
