There were other reasons to lose sleep.
It certainly wasn't as though I couldn't sleep because I wasn't yet sure that
George W. Bush was actually president, and thus needed to get the official news
as soon as possible. After all, as things turned out, we had a full eight years
of that presidency that offered many additional reasons not to be able to fall
asleep.
