Taking my time.
I've devoted an entire column to acknowledging that I'm what might be called a
conservative technology freak. Such an approach has both advantages and disadvantages.
On issues related to the internet, after all, speed is often of the essence. Anyone
wishing to be acknowledged as a pundit of merit should be among the first on the
scene, reporting on new tools, new trends, new nomenclature - anything that suggests
that he or she not only knows that this is a constantly changing and developing
field, but also knows the direction in which these developments are heading. I
don't have the best record on this account. Though I sprinkle these (and other)
writings with Web 2.0 terminology, I was a late adopter of the phrase, acknowledging,
even as late as two and a half years ago that I didn't
like the term.
Go to: Actually, I could have waited.
