Beyond second opinion.

Most doctors today are probably well aware that the first thing a patient does upon getting home from a consultation is Google the various terms mentioned by the doctor. It's my guess that doctors even encourage this, if for no other reason than knowing that it's going to happen anyway, it's best to legitimize it. But when a patient not only scribbles down a few names mentioned in passing but can actually read a full list of examinations and medications, the chances of the doctor's phone ringing incessantly with questions about a particular diagnosis, or a precise dosage, become dangerously close to becoming a serious nuisance. Perhaps records of this sort should be kept in an envelope with "to be opened only in case of an emergency" printed boldly upon it.
