A father's curse.
One of my father's wise sayings was that there are two sorts of people in the world - those who bring their work home in the evening and those who don't. Dad saw a great deal of value in being able to leave your job and have the rest of the day to leisure tasks, but he knew that the hindrance toward choosing such a job was that it wouldn't be involving and interesting. It wouldn't be the sort of work which you'd want to devote long hours to. Those certainly weren't the jobs that he would want, nor want for his kids. So in the end it was almost inevitable that we'd bring our work home with us, and find it difficult to distinguish between work and home even before we became digital.
Go to: But it's my work!, or
Go to: It goes both ways, or
Go to: Making Jack dull.
