I thought that the opening sentence of this page should be "Justin Hall was one of the first people to put his life online". It had been many years since I'd last clicked into his site, but as I did so while preparing this column I realized that the sentence should actually be in the present tense: "Justin Hall is one of the first people to put his life online". He was blogging well before blogs really became a thing, and by being among the first to put himself online he also became a celebrity - which then became one of the issues he wrote about. His personal website is still online. It has updates up to 2015, and his oldest pages still look as they did long ago. Part of that website, which is now the main entrance page, is more or less a standard blog, meaning that his latest installments are at the top of the page. He seems to add posts relatively infrequently, but the latest is from December of 2017, meaning that he's definitely still around. Over the years he's maintained much of the same attitude that he started out with almost 25 years ago - he tells about himself, and encourages others to put themselves on the web. His site has a very basic HTML feel to it. Web design isn't his thing. Being readily accessible is.
