One of the best ways to waste time.
The date tie-in for that first birthday edition concluded with a link to a page called "The Curious Case of the Cockeyed Chronology" that I noted was a very fun read. How could I not click into
it and be reminded of something that I enjoyed reading? But of course this was a case of linkrot and neither the page, nor the site itself was still there. The logical response to this would have been to shrug my shoulders, say something like "it would have been nice" and move on. But since when has logic been a defining aspect of The Boidem? Even the Wayback Machine wasn't able to locate that page, though I did succeed in learning that the original site - Slow Djinn - Dave Locke's Back Road Off The Information Highway - was a website that grew out of a Sci-Fi fanzine. Locke was apparently a very well respected member of that subculture, though I can't find much biographical information about him. There are still archives with collections of these fanzines, and just maybe the page I'm looking for is in one of those. But as enjoyable as running a search of this sort may be, I think that I've exhausted the amount of time I can devote to this.
