Because traditionally the link was an asterisk

Would it make sense in the actual final Boidem column to diverge from what became a well-established tradition? Would it even be proper? Yes, this page is basically a stop-gap that ultimately links to this column's date tie-in. But the asterisk that fulfills that function is already in place, and in that case, who needs this buffer? Though there's no law against two links leading to the same page (I'm quite sure I've done that at least once in the past) it's hardly called for. But for a date tie-in? It just doesn't seem right. On the other hand, not linking directly creates a page that essentially has no function other than to reflect on how things used to be here. Basically, this is a superfluous page. And that being the case ... *.
