I still think weaving is better.

We used to surf the web. Some claim that the term derived from channel surfing, while others preferred to think that the metaphor was one of surfing a wave. I preferred the wave, but a former teacher suggested an even better term - weaving - which suggested a more active project, something we did purposefully, with a desired outcome. Today we have the infinite scroll, and it seems we've succeeded in eliminating any purposeful activity. We're now only consumers, or, perhaps merely observers. I doubt that the history of web surfing, that I attempted to examine a decade ago, suggested that this is what would ultimately happen.
