Some people have been doing their homework.

It's not hard to understand that this is the sort of topic that interests me. It does so, however, much more on the conceptual, than on the practical, level. But some serious people have been considering those practical aspects. Since well before the 2000 elections in the States and the difficulties encountered counting (or not counting) the votes cast in that election, researchers were hard at work trying to iron out the logistics of internet based-voting. Actually, so much has already been posted on this topic that it makes my take on it little more than a blip on the screen. But I've hardly been one to keep myself from plunging into a topic just because I'm a blip.
