Deviating from my usual language norm.

These columns have been in English basically for two reasons. The first, and not necessarily most convincing, has been that when the Boidem started, over eight years ago, preparing even basic textual HTML in Hebrew was a somewhat difficult task - at least in comparison to preparing a web page in English which demanded almost no technical skills. The second was, of course, that although I'm fluent in Hebrew, English still (and, thanks to the internet, once again) comes much more naturally to me. If I'm going to write a monthly column, doing it in English is much easier.

But that doesn't mean that I don't write in Hebrew as well. Numerous articles, and almost all of my participation in online forums, are in Hebrew. Interestingly, though my English writing has often served as the basis for pieces that I've later written in Hebrew, only rarely does the opposite happen - using material I've written in Hebrew in my English writing. So although I doubt that this is a first, it still is a rather rare occurrence.
