You could have seen it coming.

Pretty much by definition - the Boidem tends to look backward more than forward, but there was never any real intention to simply pay my respects to the past or indulge in nostalgia. Instead, it was devoted to examining the present (and to a certain extent the future) through the eyes of someone who still remembered a pre-digital past. Even though numerous times in these pages I took pride in being "behind the curve", often what I was expressing was that the enthusiastic adoption of yet another digital tool overlooked that we still had others (and hardly "old" ones) that got the same job done at least as well. Still, the name "Boidem" suggested an unavoidable tension. While examining the new, I still saw value in creating a record of that examination. Today, when most of what appears here, and in the larger mother-site, is far from new, perhaps the record of that examination has more value than the examination itself. And if that's not yet true today, it's a good guess that in a decade it will be.
